The Randy D. Thrower Scholarship Foundation, Inc., was set up to honor the late Randy Drake Thrower of Queenstown, MD. Randy was killed on April 2, 2016 due to an automobile accident on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. He was 21.

Born on October 7, 1994 in Easton, MD he is the son of Stephen and Melody Thrower and the brother of Kayla Thrower. Randy grew up in Centreville and was a 2012 graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School.

Randy’s passions in life were for his family, friends, sports, and health and fitness. He is remembered by most for his infectious smile and for the encouragement he showed to others. Randy’s motto was “family over everything,” and his family extended well beyond his own.

We are proud to have received a 2017 Golden Anchor Readers Choice Award presented by The Shore Update. Thank you to everyone who voted for the Randy D. Thrower Scholarship Foundation as an organization that makes our community a better place.

The foundations’s goal in raising money is to continue to give back to the community in Randy’s honor. It is because of the communities support, that the Randy D. Thrower Scholarship Foundation has been able to award over $30,000 to deserving high school students at both Queen Anne’s and Kent Island High Schools, as well as support the missions of veteran and other much needed local organizations, and lift up families in need.

The Randy D. Thrower Scholarship Foundation, Inc., relies on your support to help us to continue to honor Randy and grow his “family” and are grateful for your continued support.  Whether you are an event sponsor, event participant, event volunteer, donor or friend; please accept the heartfelt thanks of the Thrower family.
